For Autumn-Winter 2017 Delfina Delettrez presents a refined hybrid between the ancient and the hypermodern. An exploration of a kaleidoscopic optical prism and a celebration of craft and the raw material. Creating a collection of delicate rings, earrings and bracelets that speak both of yesteryear and to tomorrow.
The collection introduces the ancient wrought setting to her repertoire. Developed and reimagined, Delfina uses the technique to set precious stones without the traditional claw setting. Creating the illusion of being perfectly suspended in space. The stones pierce through the pavé encrusted gold bands in a delicate yet violent motion. The bands wrap around the finger or spiral from the earlobe and unroll into two split circles allowing panoramic views of the stones. The setting allows Delfina to celebrate the often forgotten cusp of the stone, the stones most powerful point is allowed to become an eternal prism capturing light into its constituent spectrum of colours.
The houses signature Dots Ring evolves into a playful explosion of colour and shape. Precious Aquamarine, Amethyst, Tourmaline, Beryllium and Peridots are cut in round, marquise, oval or trillion and suspended on delicate bands of white and pink gold to float around the hand.
