EARclipse is an observation of the lunar eclipse as an alchemical event. The fine pair of earrings are a play on perspective, creating an optical illusion formed by shadows and lights to create the dark side of the moon, as if the lunar eclipse was cast across the face.
Each earring is composed of two parts in elliptical shapes developed in 3D, which change appearance from a perfectly formed single circle to two circles that create a visual echo depending on the view. The two elements plug-in to each other to play a game of interlocking and symmetry that perfectly complements the opposing disk to create a magic-like effect.
The finely jewelled double circles appear to float from each ear lobe, leading the viewer to question how this “suspension” is anchored to the ear, a unique aesthetic that Delfina Delettrez explores in her progressive designs.
